Next Steps

What are the next steps?

Deciding on a Home Care provider is a big decision and daunting. Unless you have already been through this process with a loved one, you are unlikely to know what the processes are. Coupled with the fact that this is often a very upsetting and distressing time, having someone who can explain the process and guide you through the steps a weight off your mind.

At LQCS we provide the care but we are also able to help you navigate this minefield of different options and agencies and make the process as stress-free as possible.

Initial enquiry

We are happy to have a discussion with you over the phone and answer any of your questions. We understand that this is something that is life-changing for the person involved and their families so there will be lots of questions and concerns.

Home visit and assessment

In order to ascertain the are required and how we could support this, we will come and visit you in your home and carry out an assessment of your needs. This is free and you are under no obligation to take it forward. This just allows us to assess exactly what care is needed and for you to have all the necessary information about what options there are available to you.

You may be eligible for funded care through social services or we can supply as self-funded if you are not eligible. We work closely with social services and will be able to advise and signpost you to the relevant options on funding.

Create a Care Package and Plan

We aim to get your care package up and running as soon as possible. For a more complex care package this may take a few days. We will also look at matching our care workers to your needs and finding a personality match as this is so important when people are delivering one-to-one care in your own home.

Access to your home

We will also agree with you how you wish the Care Worker to access your home. Many people use a keysafe which can be discretely located outside the property and we can arrange for this to be fitted. Some people prefer to answer the front door to the care worker themselves. It is up to you and we can review at any time.

Monitoring and Review

All our Care Workers complete Daily log books which document everything they have done including medications log and noting food and drinks consumed if needed. These are reviewed regularly alongside your care needs and care package.
