There are currently around 850,000 people living with dementia in the UK. This is predicted to rise to 1.6 million by 2040. This year, people are developing dementia at a rate of one every 3 minutes.
Beyond these statistics, however, are the families with loved ones that are struggling to care for their loved ones and keep them in their own home as long as possible.
We are here to support families and friends as well as those living with dementia.
Every person with dementia is different but there are common challenges such as communication that we can help with our approach and make a difference by reducing some of the frustration communication challenges lead to.
If your loved one has dementia, it is not always possible to provide the care and support they need on a day-to-day basis. It an be very worrying and distressing, but with our carers being able to visit multiple times in a day, helping them with their day-to-day tasks and ensuring their wellbeing, it can lessen the worry.
Dementia is a progressive disease, and as it progresses, the level of care will also change. We can alter the level of care we provide and also signpost family to other agencies and support services that may be needed.
